Summary
What does this car say about you?
Funky & modern. And I hate to say it but gullible and naive
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Hated getting in and out of the back as it's very awkward on the 3 door. The Massive doors are a pain too because you have to reach so far back for the seat belt that you need double jointed shoulders. Also, the doors are so big and the internal handles so near to the front that they do not naturally shut properly. Even after a week my girlfriend and I continued to have the doors bounce when they closed so that they were on the catch but not properly shut.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would never ever buy one now. Generally I feel that Vauxhall are hard done by in reviews because I've driven lots of Astras and they are ok, and I genuinely really liked the later Vectras. A quality feel to the build and handling is better than BMW 3 and 5 series at high speeds.
What are you likely to buy next?
N/A. Rant over.

Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Actually I had the car as a hire vehicle for 11 days but felt I should write a review to hopfully assist potential buyers to steer clear

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The most gutless engine ever. I cannot believe it was a 1.4, and I really cannot believe that it does 0 to 60 mph in under 12 seconds. Maybe the engine wasn't fully run in.
What's it like to park?
Fine, but the rear parking sensors weren't very sensitive. I have driven plenty of 2005 to 2008 year Astras and their sensors are much better.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The car had done less than 500 miles when I rented it. In 11 days it had the following problems: it would consistently lose power whilst driving. It didn't stall but was very dangerous. This happened 5 times over the course of 2 days - thank God it didn't happen on the motorway. Every time I had to pull over and restart the engine to rectify the problem. The breakdown guy put his diagnostics machine on it and it apparently had 2 faults. There was a language barrier as I was on holiday but he definititely said there was a problem with the Lambda sensor. A similar problem was a few days later when I started the engine one morning and it violently coughed and spluttered for about 5 seconds before it stalled. The final niggling issue was that every day there was condensation or ice on the insi
What's most practical about your car?
It had steering wheel audio controls and cruise control. And reverse parking sensors
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I liked the modern glossy black centre console. The car looked good inside and out
