Vauxhall Corsa VXR (2015 - 2018) 1.6T VXR 3d Owner Review

Bought my corsa vxr a few months back probably paid top money for it but it’s one of the last ones made and had 24,000 miles besides I also got a 3 yr main dealer warranty too (which I must add if buying this car or any modern car you should get ) .

The car returned on average mixed town and motorway driving quick will return 27 mpg average but on a run sticking to 60 ish you’ll see mid 40s (you must run this on super unleaded 99) due to the particular engine otherwise performance is reduced and mpg significantly reduced .

The drive of the car is very engaging and fun and it never feels slow on any occasion in fact past 30mph it pulls hard in all gears ,but be warned this is a quick car and could potentially catch an inexperienced driver out due to its occasionally unpredictable nature .

The suspension as others mentioned is harsh but again look at the tyres and Ride height and you’ll see the cars set up for the track and not potholes .

Overall theyre great cars and in my opinion much nicer than fiestas and polo gti due to the rareness of them and they still have an old car feel and personality to them which most modern cars lack .

I’d say out of all the small hot hatches these are certainly near the top and offer a decent car for the money .

My buying advice is to definitely get one under 50,000 miles and ensure you get a good warranty (make sure the car you buy is standard as poor tuning damages these engines)

Bad bits ; dodgy bonnet catch which I’ve fixed , stereo not as good as vw or audis , gearbox can be glitchy but all Vauxhall’s with the m32 gearbox are .
