Summary
What does this car say about you?
Looks good and is reliable. A practical tool without spending a fortune on younger and more expensive/less reliable 4x4s which do the same job.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Would you buy this car again and why?
I've tried a TD5, old and newer Shoguns, Jeep Cherokee, Izuzu Troopers and none offer the driving pleasure, good mpg and low purchase and running costs of the DTi Frontera. My car has done 54000 miles in 7 months, mostly towing a car trailer, has been mega-tough and reliable, and all for £650.
What are you likely to buy next?
Frontera DTi 5-door.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very car-like and quite low-feeling on the road. Superb handling, very precise and little body roll. Even with a loaded/unloaded car trailer it can be driven swiftly. Satisfyingly precise gear-shift too. Pretty quick for a diesel.
What's it like to park?
Really easy, good visibility and precise steering. Tailgate glass can be opened to talk to people behind if manouvering a trailer in tight spots.

Living with it

No
What's most practical about your car?
Plenty of room to sleep in the back, with a nice flat floor and room to stretch. Tows absolutely superbly. Split tailgate can be useful.
