Vauxhall Frontera 2.3 TD Diamond 5d (1993/L) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Compared to other 4x4s, they are very cheap and pretty much do the same thing.
Costs
Can't really coment as I am a mechanic and do all the work myself. So far, parts are not that bad but I would say that the labour bills would be quite high. If the electric windows play up the control modules are obselete now and not many in scrap yards.

Driving
Very good, common thing, people say they wonder a bit, (make sure tracking is ok and good tyres all round).
Performance
Not very quick, but car weighs nearly 2.5 tones. These are not built for speed, I think the 2.8 TD will be better because they are an Isuzu engine, but diamonds are rare so I put up with the 2.3.

I have read lots of reports on my model and they say they get around 30mpg. NO WAY - I get 25mpg basic driving and 21.5mpg towing caravan (which is reasonable for a 4x4).
