In their own words
I bought this car used from Aston VX. Great at selling, poor after sales (like every other VX dealer I've used). Car looks great. Nice driving position and view of the road. Feels sporty, nice chunky wheel, decent gear lever but notchy gear change, not the worst though. Nice and big, roomy in the back. Noisy though on the motorway. The diesel unit feels agricultural compared to premium brands. It's no slouch (163ps) and the fuel economy is brilliant, genuinely impressive. So is the £30 per year tax. But that's where it all stops. My interior started falling apart. The lock trims fell off, as did the plastic trims which release the split folding seats. The parcel shelf rattles so loud you have to use tape or draught excluder to stop it. My engine has now developed an annoying rattle when started from cold, although it has been regularly serviced and has plenty of oil in it. As a matter of fact it's had an easy motorway life. I have suffered multiple ESP service warning faults, still not fully rectified. The engine died completely on me with my family in the car, 4 days without my car and all it allegedly was, was a software issue. Engine sounded terminal but with a reflash of the ecu it worked again. Then the turbo let go at just under 50k miles! Replaced under warranty. I'm still suffering the rattle and esp faults now and again. Annoyingly, the sat nav has also stopped working properly, Doris, seemed to have developed a drug habit. It seems she reads out directions like she's on speed. I don't know why this is happening, at first it was funny, now it's just annoying and needs to be fixed, She is talking so fast you can't actually understand her. Needless to say the car is not going to be a keeper. The VX service I have received when getting the car in for warranty work, and servicing, has been downright rude and patronising, their staff need to do a Mercedes course in speaking to people. Because of this car, I will never, ever, touch any Vauxhall ever again. That said, I did say that when my Vectra sri blew its head gasket on the A1. This time never really does mean never.
