Vauxhall Meriva 1.6 16V Breeze 5d (2004/54) Owner Review

Economy
Value
You get a lot for the price so long as you get at least £1500 off list as new.
Costs
Petrol consumption around 32 on long journeys so disappointing against manufacturers claims of over 40.

Driving
In many ways a pleasure to drive with light clutch, power steering and good brakes. BUT the accelerator pedal is so close that the weight of the foot would have you doing 70. Lifting the foot off all the time is very tiring and spoils this car completely.
Performance
High gearing means 3000 rpm at 70 but a lot of gear changing needed to get anywhere urgently and flat spots when the foot goes down.

Living with it
Reliability
too early to say so benefit of the doubt on this
Image
With blacked out rear windows, rear roof aeriel and alloys on the Breeze very cool and even 18 yr old son likes the A team van look.
Comfort
Feels like a big car. Very comfortable seats. Big load area and flex seats brillliant.

Security and Service
Security
Deadlocks etc but no alarm. Rear rood aeriel very vulnerable to being unscrewed by vandals.
