Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 36 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The VXR is the least economical Meriva, although 36mpg isn’t bad for its performance and load carrying capability. Insurance is group 12 which is reasonable while Vauxhall dealer servicing is generally inexpensive.
The Meriva VXR performs reasonably on the eco front, with emissions of 187g/km of CO2 and average fuel economy of 36mpg.
The Vauxhall interior is fairly well screwed together but doesn’t feel particularly robust. However the engines and gearboxes are well proven and should give few, if any, problems.
