Vauxhall Monaro 5.7 V8 2d (2004/04) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Paid 24500 for an ex-demo with 2000 miles does value get much better than this?
Costs
Tires are predictably expensive and fuel consumption while not great is not as bad as you might think, you can easily get 30mpg in motorway driving. Insurance is not too bad either for a group 20 car.

Driving
Ride quality is amazing and the handling belies it size. It's a very comfortable motorway cruiser but also good to chuck around.
Performance
Awesome, just awesome. If you want more I suggest you look up a company called Wortec who do remaps, exhausts etc, for the Monaro and truly take it into the supercar league. The exhaust is too quiet though (I've had that fixed) and the brakes aren't good.

Living with it
Reliability
Never ever let me down, engine is simple which means theres not much to go wrong and is not sttretched whatsover.
Image
While people have this big stigma about the Vauxhall badge, I think now it is been relieved somewhat because they are finally making decent and exciting cars.
Comfort
Big comfy leather sports seats that are very supportive during enthusiastic driving and hold you in place but are exceptionally comfortable when cruising. The inside has everything bar sat-nav - but in this car, you want to get lost!

Security and Service
Security
Alarm, immobiliser etc. I suggest you put a tracker in aswell to help insurance.
Service
Absolutely shocking, the dealers treat you like dirt until they find out what car you drive, and even then you are ignored and left without a clue.
