Vauxhall Monterey 3.2i V6 Diamond 5d Auto (1997/P) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Plenty of metal for the money. Huge cabin space and plenty of toys.
Costs
Dire fuel economy around town - 15mpg, 25mpg just possible on the Motorway. Parts can be obtained cheaper through 4x4 specialists - steer clear of main dealers (Isuzu/Vauxhall).

On the road
Driving
Extremely comfy barge. Best kept driven in a straight line.
Performance
0-60mph in 10 seconds, cruises at Motorway speeds. Smooth auto. Takes some stopping due to it weighing similar to a 747, but has ABS.

Living with it
Reliability
Nothing major, just the usual brakes, exhaust and tyres at 90k miles. Service it regularly with frequent oil changes. Timing belt every 56k miles. Japanese built by Isuzu.
Image
Appeals more to those who have been around longer.
Comfort
High view points, large windows. LWB ride smoother than SWB.

Security and Service
Security
Standard fit alarm and immobiliser. Had an attempted break in on driver's door lock - withstood the abuse and held out.
Service
Can be costly at main dealers - phone around.
