Vauxhall Nova Hatchback 1.4i Flair Cat 3d (1999/S) Owner Review

Economy
Value
A plastic spoiler and coloured trim don't cost that much more. It would have been nice to have SOMETHING electric!
Costs
Parts cheap - it's just the quantity needed that was the problem! Fuel economy was pretty good though for performance.

On the road
Driving
Poor handling and ride. Very easy to lose the front end if there was a slight amount of damp about.
Performance
Good up to about 70, then eventually tops at 105… downhill!

Living with it
Reliability
Very poor. Constant stalling caused by what Vauxhall claimed to be a ^^trouble free^^ECU. But sometimes fine. Depended what day it was I think! But what use is that?
Image
Not bad but looks very dated compared to modern stuff.
Comfort
OK, if you like jiggling about. Now where are the electric toys?

Security and Service
Security
Dodgy - been broken into on numerous occasions. Not surprising when all you have are three poor locks. Thought about buying a Doberman.
Service
Wouldn't trust Vauxhall for a cup of tea, let alone give them a car for servicing again! And I"m not the only person to feel this way about Vauxhall dealers or their cars!
