Vauxhall Nova Hatchback 1.5 D 3d (1992/J) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Excellent value.
Costs
Dead cheap to run. Nothing goes wrong (most of the time).
-
On the road
Driving
Tend to get lots of understeer in the wet, but apart from that, the handling is spot on.
Performance
Quite rapid for a diesel, but modifications are very easy!
-
Living with it
Reliability
Never breaks down, but when the cold start solonoid goes then it doesn't want to start ever!
Image
The best Rude Boy car of all time, and they look great when lowered.
Comfort
Nice ride, but seats need replacing ASAP with some nice D&W racing ones.

Security and Service
Security
Crap. You can break into them with a pair of sissors. Best buy I've made was a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser.
Service
Never been to a Vauxhall garage.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Starting from cold isn't as good as it could be and the injectors need doing after 150,000 miles.
Other
Bit slow, but you don't buy this car for its speed, you buy it for its fuel consumption (60mpg).
Ownership
Did you buy the car new?
Used
Would you buy the same model again?
No
Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?
Yes
