Summary
What does this car say about you?
Everything! This car was made for a tall person who likes comfort and reliability.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
None of them seem to know the car before - everybody is used to their mediocre Focus, Astras and Golfs. I was asked what car it is... like the car has never seen in the UK before. Second most common comment is "how much was it?!" meaning "how can you afford it?". Omegas was used by UK heads of state, prime-minister and also by Prince of Wales - who had red one!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, definitely. Already had the 2.5 diesel automatic with the BMW engine and I think it was the one I liked the most! Maybe would like to try the 3.2 litre with all the luxury trimmings - it's harder to find a good maintained one these days!
What are you likely to buy next?
I'm very keen on Jaguar X-Type or bigger.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£560
When did you buy the car?
January 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
I got an incredible deal for £560 - these big cars are very depreciated - the owner had it for 12 years and it was beautifully maintained. It had only 65k miles but it drove like new.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I used to own a Vauxhall Carlton - loved it! Then changed to Omega 2.5 turbo diesel. Always liked Vauxhall/Opel. It feels solid, robust, safe and comfortable. It's the car with most driver's space you can get... I'm 6'4 tall and don't like being cramped into the drivers seat, the Omega and Carlton has so much room!
What was the dealer like?
I bought it from private, very easy to seal the deal!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's a real pleasure, smooth, quiet and super comfortable! Cruising on the motorway or driving through the city is so smooth that it feels like it's not touching the floor - are we flying? It's so comfy with all the leather seats, aircon, sunroof - and at the same time completely non-conspicuous. It's like using an invisibility cloak! Nobody cares about it, nobody looks at it. It's just like a big secret only a few know. I'd never be able to drive a Ferrari as I wold hate everyone starring at it and who's driving - that feeling of being put on the spot, centre of attention, oh no!
What's it like to park?
I have no problems with parking any car in tightest parking spot! This car was no different! However you cannot park this car in space suited for a median sized car, and most of the parking spots available seem to be for Golf's.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
In the nearly 2 years I owned the car, I only had to change a little plastic water diaphragm pump for £5, otherwise there has been no faults at all. I replaced 2 tyres too.
What's most practical about your car?
It feels very German - solid like a tank and reliable. Everything works as it should. The boot can take a lot of luggage too.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I love the cruise control and heated black leather seats! Xenon lights are great too.
