Vauxhall Omega Saloon 3.0i V6 Elite 4d Auto (1997/R) Owner Review

Economy
Value
As well specced as a 5 series or E-class, but with Vauxhall depreciation... a second-hand bargain!
Costs
High mileage ones may need a bit more servicing (replacing worn components), and the 3 litre V6 can be a thirsty beast at times, but it's no more expensive to run than you should expect for a big executive saloon.

On the road
Driving
Excellent handling on all types of road, always feels stable.
Performance
200bhp going to the rear wheels, and the auto box in sport mode... It's not a sports saloon - all the Elite goodies add to the weight - but it's got the power when needed.

Living with it
Image
The Vauxhall badge won't get you much respect from other drivers (except from the ones who mistake you for a traffic police Omega as you grow larger in their rear view mirrors :-), but your passengers will love it.
Comfort
Every journey, no matter how long, feels just like a 5 minute spin around the block. It's a leather clad climate controlled cocoon on wheels.

Security and Service
Service
Given all the complaints you can find about Vauxhall dealers, I have to say my local dealers have given me nothing but good quality service so far.
