Vauxhall Senator 2.6i CD 4d Auto (LT) (1994/L) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Cheap to buy, service history will guarantee you intergalactic miles, parts cheap, easy to fix, no cam belt and a cult following.
Costs
Heavy fuel consumption round town, 30+ on a run, parts readily available and well priced, insurance costs heavy on the young.
-
On the road
Driving
Silky smooth 12v engine, capable handling & performance (in sports suspension & gearbox modes), long legged cruising in comfort. Quality feel. Well equipped.
Performance
Best suited to the fast open road with blistering turn of speed, sports button on gear knob will open the dual ram intake for fast overtaking.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Door locks wear on high miler's, front strut / anti roll bar links knock over bumps, engines well serviced will live forever, rust creeps in around rear doors & arches, trip computers glitchy as are dash warning bulbs. Fuel hoses prone to leaks.
Image
90's company exec' mobile, big and gutsy, dated now & superseded by Omega with frail Ecotec engine. A future classic with no doubt.
Comfort
Plush surroundings, leather & velour options, walnut capped trim, fully loaded, fully adjustable with all the toys, long journeys a breeze.
-
Security and Service
Security
Alarm activated by drivers door lock, ABS standard, no air bags on this model year.
Service
Go for good independents, main dealer too expensive and no more knowledgeable.
-
Problems and Ownership

Slight fuel leak from injector feed hose.
Other
Front brake pads & front anti roll bar links.
