Summary
What does this car say about you?
I like to drive something a little different. Everyone knows the Vectra but many people aren't aware that the Signum comes from the same stable.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Most friends who have travelled in the car rate in highly. Particulary rear seat passengers who are always impressed by the legroom.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, without doubt. Comfort - the half leather seats and the suspension, the sound system, satnav, cruise control, the performance and the economy. The on board computer shows an average of 42.4 mpg over 9000 miles.
What are you likely to buy next?
I intend keeping the Signum for several years. I may consider replacing it with the new Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer Diesel when used ones become available in 2010-2012.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fantastic - the Design version has uprated sports suspension and handles perfectly for such a big car. The V6 diesel sounds great and is powerful. At 58 mph in 6th gear the engine is only pulling 1500 rpm.
What's it like to park?
A bit tricky with poor visibility to the rear due to the large quarter panels. I haven't scratched it yet though!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
After one year I had one fault develop in 9000 miles. The tailgate electrical lock broke. Replaced by local Vauxhall dealer under warranty.
What's most practical about your car?
Low loading sill to a big hatchback. This is ideal if you have a dog as I have. The rear seats also fold completely flat if you need it. The rear seats also move fore and aft, to give either more space in the hatch or more legroom for back seat passengers.
