Vauxhall Sintra 2.2 16V CD 5d (5 Seat) (1998/R) Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
-
Economy
Value
Good sized MPV for the money.
Costs
Parts costs are expensive and exceedingly difficult to get a hold of (6 week wait for window motor-from Detroit USA!)
-
On the road
Driving
Comfortable if somewhat bouncy ride. Wide body makes town driving a little awkward.
Performance
Smooth and fast. 141BHP provides rapid progress.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Mechanically good, electrically unreliable.
Image
Looks reasonable, however it's a GM Venturer underneath and is not as aesthetic as modern MPVs.
Comfort
Armchair front seats. Best l've sat on.
-
Security and Service
Security
Alarm siren fails due to location, behind OSF indicator, due to water ingress.
Service
Vauxhall don't want to know about Sintras and don't provide any parts backup. It is built in USA and all parts must come from there! The only Euro part is the excellent 2.2i 16V engine.
