Economy
Value
Depreciation is a crippler and see below.
Costs
Bit thirsty, at 80,000 miles the timing chain will snap, seen it on 3 cars including mine. Scrap never the same again short of new engine.
-
On the road
Driving
Superb drive, too good for an estate.
Performance
Blistering performance, goes literally like stink.
-
Living with it
Reliability
If has an iffy clutch, oil leaks or any warning lights run a mile it spells big trouble and virtually impossible to find and cure (even for Vauxhall garages with diagnostic trickery)
Image
Looks of the SRi NICE but still a rattly, squeeky Vauxhall
Comfort
Stiff suspension around town with the lovely speed humps, otherwise comfy.

Security and Service
Security
Wasn't nicked and no bits disappeared.
Service
Vauxhall sensors on car WILL go wrong and the Vauxhall diagnostic machines a joke still comes down to trial and error.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Timing chain snapped. 80,000 no of another 3 2.2 engines to go same at 80,000.
Other
Common fault; cracking block when tightening pulley wheels. Vauxhall very aware...…
