Value
Excellent value second hand. Mine new would be 17 grand, bought 1 year old 10 grand. You would be daft not to!!!
Costs
Getting 36mpg whether on long slog to Cornwall or quick blast to work. Insurance fairly reasonable but shop around. Do your own servicing - specialists parts suppliers about - Vaux Parts in Wakefield very reasonable and helpful.

Driving
Hard seats and suspension but excellent driving position. Big car feel but still sporty.
Performance
Only ""mildly warm"" by todays standards. Plenty of pull above 3000rpm, not much below. Excellent cornering thanks to (standard!) lowered and stiffened suspension.

Living with it
Reliability
A few niggly problems (to be expected after 113,000 miles). XE1 engine (with oil cartridge filter) uses too much oil when pushed. Air-con stopped working, rear wheel alignment fragile, thermostat, cam angle sensor - but not let me down in 4 yrs
Image
Shame about Vectra's poor image - it's a good looking car. Looks particulalrly good in silver - there are just so too many of them. Shame you don't notice until after you buy one!!
Comfort
Seats hard but supportive. Plenty of head/legroom. Weird steering wheel angles!! Half leather seats look good!

Security and Service
Security
Could be a thief magnet - spoiler and red decals - but too many about. Deadlocks and alarm good.
Service
Never resorted to main dealers or manufacturer.
