Economy
Value
Lots of toys for your money. Feels like a solid car.
Costs
Vauxhall dealers quite pricey, but many tasks are easy to DIY. Fuel econ is good (35mpg) when at constant speed, but low around town or when pushed (20mpg). Insurance quite high for a 2litre.

On the road
Driving
Firm ride, sticks to the road well for a big car. Power steering has a positive feel, but the EcoTec engine lacks punch.
Performance
Sluggish at low revs, but very lively at higher revs. Sounds good and feels willing. One of the more lively 2 litres I've driven.

Living with it
Reliability
Never failed me yet and has 80,000 miles on the clock.
Image
Generally portrays family saloon or rep-mobile, but the SRi's bodykit, spoiler and alloys make a real difference. Facelift models bumpers are more appealing.
Comfort
Sports seats are firm and have good adjustment and lumbar. Comfortable on motorway journeys.
