Economy
Value
Up to 100,000 miles this car was trouble free, but in the last 6,000 miles it's had gear box gasket, alternator (both which require the wheels off & drive shafts removed), starter motor and wheel bearing.
Costs
Easy to do basic servicing yourself, but beyond filters and plugs it starts to get expensive (£77 + VAT for HT leads… oouuchh)

On the road
Driving
Cruises at high speeds with ease for hours, but the suspension turned into water bed resistance over night at 100,000.
Performance
Pulls very well over 3,000 rpm, but I use this around town so be prepared for 22-26 mpg.

Living with it
Reliability
It's just reached 106,000 miles and I'm afraid it's time to get rid of it.
Image
We all know you'll see 10 Vectras for every three miles travelled.
Comfort
Very comfortable (I'm 6' 3") although the lumber controls in the seat are useless.

Security and Service
Security
Locks and alarm been no problem.
Service
Took it to local Vauxhall garage for timing belt change. They had it for four days as they couldn't get it to start after that. Hhmmmmm.
