Value
As a private buyer, anything over 3 years old and you get a lot of car for your money. Newer models (up to 2001) suffered huge depreciation on arrival of the new facelift model. I've just sold my £16,000 new Sri on e-bay for £3300 after only 3 years.
Costs
Initial depreciation aside, the SRi 150 is fairly easy to live with. Look after it and it shouldn't let you down.

Driving
Driving is a mixed bag, handles better than most cars of this size and hold the road well on high speed corners. But the 2.2 seems to have been detuned to much and can leave you uninspired. Gear ratios aren't to my taste.
Performance
Not a proper hot hatch, but warmish fun that won't hit your wallet too hard. Pulls better from 80mph onwards and has a good top end. Is outdone here by any Honda engine.

Living with it
Reliability
Never let me down, even after thashing, racing, irregular servicing, in all weathers. At 65,000 hard miles from me, still drove like the day I bought it. Check for engine mount movement after 50,000 miles. If it dipps, it's been thrashed.
Image
Respectable family warm hatch, that's reliable and a good used buy. Beware, big bore after market exhausts might get you another 15bhp, but drasticly reduces the cars torque and drivability.
Comfort
Being an Sri, the ride is on the firm side but tolerable. Long journeys are no sweat and can be fun down country lanes.

Security and Service
Security
Deadlocks, remote C/L, security glass, visible VIN, immobiliser. Well my car was never stolen… is that good enough?
Service
Network Q are curtious, fast and reliable.
