Economy
Value
Bags of car for the money. All necessary bits present plus a few goodies.
Costs
Parts sensible price but mpg forces up costs. 30-34 mpg good for a V6 though' Exhaust & clutch expensive.

On the road
Driving
Jerky when cold, but OK when warm. Main beams useless.
Performance
Good overall. Quick top end. Chased Scoobie Impreza down foreign motorway. I could not catch, he could not escape.

Living with it
Reliability
Clutch slave cylinder went. Integral with bearing, so box out. Very expensive and difficult job. EGR pipe split. Again, very expensive part. Boot damp, dunno why. Never let me down.
Image
My ego is not that frail. Elegant, classic lines. Evolution from Cavalier. The Vectra still looks fresh, especially the sublte facelifted versions. Vectra 2 was a visual abortion. New facelift redresses the balance somewhat.
Comfort
Good seats, very adjustable. Can easily do 700 miles in one go and get out feeling fine.

Security and Service
Security
Deadlocks, alarm, visible VIN. Vauxhall set the standards.
Service
Good, but main dealer prices for the stuff which I cannot do.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
EGR pipe split. Original tail box just failed. Not bad for 118k miles.
Other
Engine light goes on and off for reasons best known to itself. No performance or mpg loss, so ignore it.
