Vauxhall Vectra Hatchback 2.0 DTi Club 5d (2003/03) Owner Review

Economy
Value
I realise depreciation is big, but I got it a year old at almost half price anyway.
Costs
Excellent. I find it hard not to get 50mpg, regardless of whether its local or long distance. It even turns back almost 30mpg when towing a caravan!

On the road
Driving
Solid on the road, unless you want to race it. I use it as a tow car and it is excellent.
Performance
Very flexible engine and gearbox but a bit of a GT slug when you do want it. On the move acceleration is excellent.

Living with it
Reliability
Had some noisy front suspension and had a modification done free.
Image
I never understand all the criticism of Vauxhall. Its stylish, clean lined and looks pretty good to me.
Comfort
Better than my mates 5 series BMW!
-
Security and Service
Security
Excellent alarm and deadlocking means it will have to be entered Dukes of Hazard style!
Service
No problems other than the local Vauxhall agent fitted a tow bar- wrong choice- they were useless regarding the wiring and 7 pin connectors, I'd recommend using a dedicated installer.

Foot well carpets will NOT stay fixed despite the carpet grabber pins!
