Vauxhall Vectra Hatchback 2.0 DTi LS 5d (2003/03) Owner Review

-
Economy
Value
Loads of kit for a base model.
Costs
It's a company car - emissions not bad but a Euro 4 rating would have been better.
-
On the road
Driving
Plenty of toys to amuse oneself. Suspension too soft for my taste, but is fine on the motorway. The electronic indicators are a bit of a mixed bag, once you get used to them they are great though.
Performance
Slow off the line (it's a very big car), but not bad when up to speed.
-
Living with it
Reliability
In the first 6 weeks it spent 2 weeks in the garage.
Image
It's a Vauxhall and a diesel - nuff said.
Comfort
Not bad - despite having an engine from a tractor. Front seats could do with better support.
-
Security and Service
Security
Good - the boot always seems to be automatically locking itself. Standard alarm.
Service
The last one I visited must have been one of the worst I ever been to.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Spanner light on - Turbo didn't work and it was replaced - took 2 weeks to be fixed.
Other
Boot needed adjusting - DIY job (couldn't face the dealer again).
