Economy
Value
Paid £9,000 for 11 month old car with 13K on clock - less than half price. Amazing!
Costs
Heavy on juice but what did I really expect??? 30mpg about the best you an hope for. On plus side, dealer servicing reasonable. No other costs as yet.

On the road
Driving
Very smooth, effortless drive. Steering light and brakes powerful.
Performance
Lots of power, but lots of weight also. Pulls strongly in 3rd for overtaking, but you've got to get it into third first (the gearbox can be rather sluggish!)

Living with it
Reliability
Have done nearly 3K since acquiring the car and nothing as such has gone wrong with it. That said, the brakes are noisy (but work fine), and an existing fault (knocking/creaking sound from the suspension) took two trips to the dealer to sort out.
Image
Yes, it's a classic repmobile, but I think it has a far more sophisticated image and slicker looks than the previous car. The Mondeo and Passat that people seem to go on and on about do not have the style of the Vectra.
Comfort
Can't fault the Vectra for this, which is really why I bought one. It's big and spacious, has good seats, superb ride quality and not much noise. Fantastic cruising car.

Security and Service
Security
No reason to doubt it as yet. No problems with immobiliser or alarm.
Service
Fault with suspension was not dealt with on first visit to dealer, but otherwise have found service to be very good.
