Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
-
Economy
Value
2nd hand it's pretty unbeatable due to being so common.
Costs
42mpg on a run - from a V6! Easy enough for DIY servicing.
-
On the road
Driving
Competant.
Performance
Fly wheel far too heavy and needs chipping - See Courtenay's for solution -)
-
Living with it
Reliability
No major problems.
Image
Mmmmm. It's a silver Vectra.
Comfort
Leather isn't sumptuous, but on a run with the cruise, 300 miles easily achievable before a break is required.

Security and Service
Security
Tried to get a 3rd party security upgrade, but was told there was no need as the Vauxhall was as good as anything they had.
Service
Dealers are fitters, not mechanics. Find one that has a mechanic and you're ok.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Floods occaisionally from cold. Shouting obscenities while continually turning over the engine seems to work.
Other
Suspension geometry. 4 wheel laser aligment should highlight the problem/sort it out and well worth it. Symptoms would be a rear end 'wiggle' when going over a bump.
Ownership
Did you buy the car new?
Used
Would you buy the same model again?
Yes
Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?
Yes
