Summary
What does this car say about you?
I wanted a BMW, I might be a taxi driver, but theres a 90% chance I'm a sales rep. It is sensibility personified.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Funnily enough only good remarks all round - 'roomy' 'very smart' and one random 'is it a mercedes?'
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. Its not given me much trouble generally and once I got over the taxi driver image I grew to like it. Think they're much improved on previous models. Its all very nice, just not enough to make you adore the thing.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably a 320i if I can find one at the right price&year that hasn't done the mileage of all Ewan mcgregors long way trips combined. Had one before and bought the Vectra as the BM scared the crap out of me in the wet.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£4,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes I think so at the time, think the best deals are to be had just into the new year when everyones pennyless.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed a family car, seemed to fit the bill
What was the dealer like?
Very helpful and friendly. Very competient aftercare too.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Its alright, 4th and 5th gears pull as much as the elephant man tho'
What's it like to park?
Flaming nightmare at the start. The sensore are an extra, hard to judge the boot overhang until you develop a sense for it - fronts ok (just make sure the seat is quite high up).

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Just a wheel bearing went, suspected it would be a £70 -£80 job, but found that it was all part of the hub carrier and is quite an expensive part. Other than that its a good runner-waiting to see what might creep up next tho'
What's most practical about your car?
Its good on the motorways, its kind of made for that. You could fit a travelling circus of elephants in the boot too. If you wanted too - and well why not.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
My first car with cruise control, seemed like a gadget fit for a king when I first used it. Radio controls on steering wheel are excellent and as standard it all works very nicely.
