Summary
What does this car say about you?
I like to be noticed and like to have rare things.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Everyone seems to love the car, even my girlfriend who has no interest in cars whatsoever.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes a million times over. The car is Arden Blue, which is not available on any other spec Vectra. Though it is not the rarest of the 5 colours the Vectra VXR came in the other 4 colours are available on other spec Vectra C models. Also some of the 1001 cars in the UK have now been scrapped/written off making them quite rare.
What are you likely to buy next?
Either... A Vectra VXR Estate (or) A Vectra VXR in Silver Lightning (only 24 produced).

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
August 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
The car was low mileage, well below average for its age. The car has FSH. The car was imported from Northern Ireland for me as it was the best match to my requests. The car is totally unmodified from showroom spec.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I had always wanted one from release.
What was the dealer like?
They were only interested in the sale of the vehicle and the profit in there, in my opinion. I had to tax the vehicle myself because they refused due to the price (£253.00 - 6 Month). Also there was no fuel in the car, only a 2 mile of range left.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Deadly Fast, If you drive this car like a prat it will kill you. It is decieving with its size, but it moves like a car of half the size. Power delivery is smooth and continuous through every gear. The needle just sweeps round until you take your foot off of the pedal. Brakes are more than sufficient. The car handles again like a smaller car, despite what the morons at Top Gear say from their test (where they had taken the Traction control/ABS fuse out). It manouvres excellently in corners, but, too fast in tight bends and the back end likes to step out on you. This car needs really good tyres because otherwise you just spin the wheels in the wet. The seats are really comfy too. The main thing about this car is the Smile it gives you.
What's it like to park?
Very easy to park, but there front and rear parking sensor options on later models. If you can't park a big car, you shouldn't be driving one.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Slight Mis-Fire - Cured With New Spark Plugs Front Anti-Rollbar Links Knocking. Cracked Alloys x2 (from previous owner - common fault with the 19" alloys).
What's most practical about your car?
Lots of boot space, lots of cabin and passenger space.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
AFL - Adaptive Forward Lighting, This is where the lights turn as you turn the wheel (to almost a 90 degree angle!!) Excellent for country roads with long bends.
