Vauxhall Vectra VXR (2005-2008) boot space, practicality and safety
The Vectra missed out of a five-star rating in official European crash tests, but it is fundamentally a very safe car with six airbags as standard as well as the sophisticated electronic stability programme which can prevent crashes happening in the first place. Steering wheel-mounted audio controls are standard.
The Vectra is one of the most practical cars in its class, and the estate is second only to the giant Mercedes-Benz E-class wagon for luggage volume with a maximum of 1850 litres. Rear seats fold flat without needing to remove head restraints and the estate can be chosen with the optional FlexOrganiser system which keeps different luggage items separate and in place.
A power tailgate can be chosen as an option for extra convenience. The hatchback is also pretty roomy with a large luggage compartment and impressive load volume.
