Vauxhall Viva (2015 - 2019) 1.0 SE (A/C) 5d Owner Review

In their own words
I have owned this car since April 2017, pre reg in 2016 but with zero miles. Difficult to fault this car, I have prior to retirement 35 years motor trade experience. Fairly short model lifespan in general terms, but poorly marketed by Vauxhall in my opinion. I feel its a better car than than the Aygo, C1, and 108 trilogy. These have an unmistakably 3 cylinder thrum whereas with the Viva it's not noticeable. You could argue the VW Up is better quality, but in most guises it is underpowered and overpriced. I think the pedestrian sounding 13.1, 0 to 60mph time seems irrelevant as it really seems quite brisk to me. I have the 1.0 SE A/C version and you do get an excellent amount of unexpected kit for the money. I Mean, follow me home headlights, lane departure, front fogs, cruise control, city lighter steering etc. Fit and finish is also excellent (it is built in South Korea).
It has proved very frugal, as mine is pre 2017 it costs just £20 to tax it. I have never regretted buying it, despite reading a number of mediocre reviews.
My only caveat is I did have one service at a Vauxhall main dealer and they were abysmal. It has been serviced subsequently by an independent, half the labour rate and twice the service.
