Vauxhall VX220 2.2 16V 2d (2001/X) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Disappointing that Vauxhall launched the VX220 as a limited model citing 3000 UK models over 3 years. Then released a Turbo version which immediately devalued the original in both rarerity and performance.
Costs
Battery is underrated and doesn't hold charge more than 2-3 days. Indicators failed with intermittent fault after 1 year and Vauxhall didn't resolve until warranty expired and made me pay for it. Otherwise running costs below average.

Driving
A great drive even on long journeys. Very responsive.
Performance
Downgraded from 5 due to Turbo version.

Living with it
Reliability
See note about Battery. can't leave at airport without needing a jump start for more than 24 hrs.
Image
still get stopped and quizzed on car by admirers who still can't believe Vauxhall made this car!
Comfort
Very good for type of car. No complaints for daily use or long journeys - still get out of car with a smile on my face.

Security and Service
Security
Limited to factory Immobiliser - no central locking etc.
Service
Vauhall are sloppy and unreliable. Despite prior warning they don't get parts in when I advise its needed and keep car longer than planned. They lost accessory orders for 12 months for one part.
