Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
October 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes. Basically got the car for £1200 less than price they would normally advertise it for, however they lied saying it had 1 owner but had had 2. UPDATE - Afterwards, we found out that they'd charged us an extra £300 for paint protection and other stuff which we never asked for !!!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed the extra seats and decided against the Grand Scenic 'cause of the automatic handbrake
What was the dealer like?
Okay. Despite getting the milage wrong, they offered to fit cruise control for free, which I can't grumble. Since this though, dealer said they'd sort stereo if it wouldn't play MP3's but didn't and won't. Frustrating but at least they put other things right. UPDATE - After we found out they'd overcharged us, they admitted that their sales manager used to "adjust the figures" so he could get his bonus. As a consequence of this, we got a free CD MP3 player and a refund of the extra paid.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Much better than I thought it would be. After driving the Astra and Scenic, I didn't think I'd like it but it's just like driving a car, rather than a 7 seater, other than if crawling it seems to lose the revs quite easily so I have to put more power and dip clutch so it doesn't skid the wheels.... not easy, especially when roads are icy.
What's it like to park?
Quite easy. Parallel parking is quite easy too although the front pillars get in the way.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Boot didn't shut properly, which they put right and in the winter the windscreen washer keeps blowing the fuse when it's very cold. Get plenty of spare 10 amp fuses otherwise dealers will charge a ridiculous amount to fix it!!!
What's most practical about your car?
7 seats, rake and reach steering wheel and the stupid handbrake has good space in between for stuff.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Auto wipers/lights and the cruise control. Also I love the fact that if you hold the unlock or lock button on the remote it opens or closes all the windows. That'll come in useful for our very hot summers that we get..... ahem. Also the auto-dimming rear view mirror is fantastic... turns everything green !!!
