In their own words
The selling dealer was so incompetent I had to return the car more than 6 times to fit the extras ordered and sort out the problems with the car. I changed to a different dealer for service and future repairs! Between being an unreliable and in my opinion dangerous car (steering problems and lights) and dealers that can't sort problems the first time Vauxhalls are not for me. It is a comfortable tourer and I have achieved 47mpg at high speeds (120km/hr) and great distances on Spanish motorways (41 mpg in UK) "with the kitchen sink in the back" so MPG is a mater of state of roads and traffic volume more than manufacturers claims being "optimistic". I think this is acceptable for a large automatic. I find the brakes are very sharp and not progressive enough to allow smooth braking especially if wearing thick soled shoes/boots My biggest grouse are the very poor headlights. They are too focused with a narrow beam spread and are just not bright enough. In wet dark weather I cannot tell if they are on or off in poor street lighting I rate them as dangerous. No upgrades are available
How reliable do you find the car?
6 failures. Ignition system failed to recognise key twice Power steering failed twice Washer pump failed twice Local dealer can't fix things in one visit, All problems reoccurred at least 2 weeks after first visit. According to my dealer power steering failures are not uncommon across the Vauxhall rangeDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
Owned the same model previously but found the later model didn't have the same storage facilities in the cabin. First Tourer proved very reliable unlike the later oneAbout their car
