Economy
Value
Bought for £8500 with 22k on the clock - half its new value, so I'd say I've done quite well. Lots for your cash.
Costs
Servicing as per all turbo'd cars - looking at £200 a time. 36-43mpg(which is very good).

On the road
Driving
Very pleasant. Not that sporty, but very smooth, plenty of torque, good gearchange, easy to place.
Performance
It is quick but traction is poor in first so expect wheel spin when you boot it. In gear overtaking times are impressive and it pulls hard from low down, which is what you want because its easy to drive that way.

Living with it
Reliability
Airflow sensor light came on, trip to dealer to get it sorted. (Dealership excellent - B'Ham VW). Otherwise, so far, it's been good.
Image
I'm biased, I like Q-cars. Handsome devil with 10 spoke alloys and sports body kit.
Comfort
Sports seats good, very adjustable and supportive. Rear space not bad. Big boot.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm and immobiliser. VW's are apparently quite and easy to nick, but touch wood, no troubles.
Service
A few niggles have been very courteously dealt with. Friendly staff - its not hard to be polite and these guys are clearly aware that customers like friendly and polite. Thumbs up.
