Value
Excellent value when quality and 'feelgood' factor hits - the interior is nicer than my brothers 316i.
Costs
Excellent servicing costs offset by thirsty old 8v engine when exploited.

On the road
Driving
A little too noisy at 90mph+! Fantastic chassis when pushed on. Feels twice as expensive as it is. Needs more positive steering feedback and firmer brake pedal. Gearbox notchy until 10,000 miles.
Performance
115bhp from 2.0 isn't great, but it certainly goes okay.

Living with it
Reliability
Faultless. Not one rattle, squeak or niggle.
Image
Standard spec looks a bit bland, but in Metallic Black with 17" alloys and sport suspension, it looks the business.
Comfort
The ONLY car I have been comfortable in the moment I sat in it. The best seats I have ever encountered. Beautiful interior - unfussy, clear and simple ergonomics.

Security and Service
Security
No one's nicked it, I feel incredibly safe and secure in this car.
Service
Perfect service from Wayside Milton Keynes. Cheap servicing, curteous and efficient.

Problems
Engine
If only it had the 20v engine in - this 8v lump is a little gruff and at odds with such refinement.
