In their own words

Purchase experience: I leased the car through PCP from VW Kettering dealership. It was a straight forward buying experience. VW provides two year warranty, free service, breakdown cover and reimbursement of any MOT expense.

Driving experience: I have driven 6000 miles in last eight months. It has been a good experience. It has been a reliable car and everything works properly. The steering is light but gets heavier as you increase speed.

Range: This is a problem. In summer, it gives around 150-170 miles if you are careful with your right foot, do not use motorways and use AC sparingly. In winter, the range drops to 120 miles. The on-board display is horrible in forecasting range, I have stopped trusting it. For example - in winter I can't do a return trip from Kingston to Luton (around 112 miles) without doing a rapid charge.

Onboard charging schedule and app: I have given up on the app and the onboard charging schedule system. It is so complicated that I have given up. I use my podpoint home charger app to guess and bring it to 80% charge. I hope VW has fixed this on ID.

Summary: Great car to use if your travel is mostly urban and no or limited motorway use. It is a very reliable, practical and frugal car to use. If your journey involves long distance driving, you will need to plan pitstops for charging.
