Volkswagen Fox (2006 - 2012) 1.4 Urban Fox 3d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I bought this car as a second car for running the kids around, doing errands and to use to commute to work when my wife is also in the office (she has a company car which we share use of). The last 2nd car we had was always breaking down so I wanted something cheap, reliable and easy to work on. I paid 1500 for the Fox with a full stamped service history and just over 61k. Service history is important with the Fox as the cambelt needs regular changes. So far it's been totally faultless. It's easy to work on (changed brakes and discs myself, lots of space around the engine and parts easily accessible). It costs about 40 quid to fill up and I get about 320-350 miles on a full tank (mostly motorway driving). Don't expect any driving thrills, if you plod along at 65 on the motorway it's quite happy. Above 3000 rpm it gets a bit loud. This model is the "1.4 Urban" so it has air con and alloys and electric windows. It's got a CD player and an adapter in the glove box that's compatible with old IPods (!) If your expectations are realistic and you're looking for a cheap, easy-to-maintain runabout, or a first car, then I'd recommend the Fox. Just get one with a full service history if you can find one.
