Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet 2.0 Avantgarde 2d (1994/M) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Hardly anything gone wrong with it and it's now almost 10 years old.
Costs
Fuel consumption isn't the best, when you open it up. But think that could be due to it being a 2 litre 8 valve engine. Saying that you can realistically get 350 miles out of a full tank, if your careful.

On the road
Driving
Fun to drive, handles well, a bit heavy on the steering though.
Performance
The 16 valve would be a better option than the 8 valve, but still 10.4 seconds isn't too bad for a car of its weight.

Living with it
Reliability
No complaints really.
Image
A smooth looking car that holds both prestige and a sporty image, without really putting it in the category of boy racer cars.
Comfort
Seats after a few years tend to become a little uncomfortable on long journeys, but as a weekend car, its not too bad at all.

Security and Service
Security
Very good, as standard it has an immobiliser, alarm and central locking. Plus options of turning the interior sensors off when the top is down to prevent the wind triggering the alarm - a very nice feature.
