Volkswagen Golf Estate 1.9 SE TDI (115ps) 5d (2000/V) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Less equipment than competitors.
Costs
55 mpg no matter how I drive. Depreciation better than the rest.
-
On the road
Driving
Not much feel through the steering and rolls a lot in corners.
Performance
Acceration is phenominal whether from the lights or on the motorway. Great for anonymous performance.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Hasn't let me down in 60k miles.
Image
It's an estate!
Comfort
Very comfortable on the motorway. Bit bouncy on back roads. Noisy on hard acceration.
-
Security and Service
Security
Heard a lot of horror stories with the locks. Luckily not mine.
Service
Tried three garages, all gave terrible service. Wait a month for a loan car. Weeks to get delivery of parts. Oil is £7.50 a litre for PD engine and only Volkswagen make it. Monopoly? Not what I expected.
