Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£4,800
When did you buy the car?
February 2006
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes. Car was one owner (company) with 107000 miles. Full history, but some scuffs inside.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed another estate car (to replace my venerable 1.6TD Passat) to continue moving around the country.
What was the dealer like?
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Initially it was rubbish. The estate suspension is too tall and soft on the rear and too soft on the front. handling improved massively by fitting suspension from a Seat Leon Cupra R. Everything else about the drive is fabulous. The six speed gearbox is great and fuel consumption is rarely under 48 mpg.
What's it like to park?
Easy due to excellent power steering and excellent all round vision.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Two minor (plus one frustrating)things. Catalyst broke, (but I managed to get that repaired by an exhaust specialist) and one ABS sensor (£10-00 from ebay). Suffered from a boost over-pressure fault which took some sorting. Turned out to be many insects in the air filter which led to oil being drawn into the inter-cooler. K&N filter fitted and induction system cleaned. No other problems.
What's most practical about your car?
If you pack it carefully it could swallow a Whale. Well, not quite, but it will take a dismantled king size bed and mattress.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Love the a/c and the up-rated sound system.
