Volkswagen Golf Estate (2013 - 2020) 1.6 TDI SE 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Comfortable car on long journeys. Sat Nav isn't very good. It can find the first three characters, but not the last three. So it can get you to a borough, but not a road. This has to be a bug. Adaptive Cruise Control is brilliant, but you can't be too complacent. I've had it accelerate towards a car, in heavy traffic. And had it brake hard on a quiet motorway. So pay attention. There was a problem with a battery drain a few days after the car was delivered which was solved by VW doing a firmware update to the ECU. Rear View mirror isn't a Prism mirror like nearly every other car built in the last 30 years, so at night, you can't tilt the mirror to reduce headlight glare behind you. Maybe it's a dimming mirror, but can't say I've noticed. Only 5 gears, but this model seems to have long ratios so it's not frantic on the motorway. Engine noise is acceptable. Radio is very good. Over all a good all round mile cruncher. Invisible on the road like most mass production cars, so don't expect to attract admiring looks, or an exciting drive.
