Volkswagen Golf Estate (2013 - 2020) 1.6 TDI SE 5d Owner Review

In their own words
I like the refinement for a car in this class, large boot, good economy. Generally reliable. The seats in the SE model are sufficiently comfortable. The fuel consumption can reach 70 MPG if driven gently and on reasonably level ground. Here in Cornwall, one of the hilliest counties in the UK, 55 MPG seems to be the average figure. I haven't been impressed by several ABS sensors failures. The unnecessary difficulty in replacing headlight bulbs beggars belief, one has to undo several bolts and fixings within the engine bay and then loosen the front wing under the wheel arch, something which the vast majority of motorists could not do. Therefore, one has to go to a dealership to address this issue which is really a design fault. The tyre pressure sensors have given unjustified warnings on several occasions. The steering is a little too vague for my liking. The electronic hand brake may not be to everyone's liking. The tracking on this car can only be adjusted to a small degree. The lane assist system on this car can be affected by adjusting the tracking which means a trip to the dealership and a bill of at least £250; another unnecessary design flaw.
