Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I'm more interested in mpg than mph, and take practicality and comfort over sportiness.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
My wife likes that we can fit three dogs in the back. Others are amused by the automatic breaking with adaptive cruise control engaged.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. I love Golfs.
What are you likely to buy next?
A Golf.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£17,750
When did you buy the car?
March 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
Demo car with 5,500 miles advertised at £18,950. Offered £17,500, paid £17,750, plus they transferred the extended warranty from my written off Golf. Reasonably happy with the deal.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Previous car written off. Practicality of an estate.
What was the dealer like?
Very courteous. No high pressure selling. Once I persuaded them to negotiate on a cash price rather than complicate things with finance deals the negotiations were pretty amicable and straightforward.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very quiet and comfortable. I'm averaging 60mpg in economy mode. I just love Golfs.
What's it like to park?
Pretty good once I sorted out how to adjust the automatic wing mirror dipping to see the kerb. It has auto parking assist but I haven't tried it out yet.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Good bluetooth integration with my iPhone.
