Volkswagen Golf Estate (2013 - 2020) 2.0 TDI GT 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Ok. I purchased this car as a pre registered example. It had 4 miles on the odometer, so although 5 months old, and registered to the dealer it was essentially a new car.
The car has been reliable, starts first time and is very economical. I do drive like an old man...or so my wife tells me... but having the trip computer running continually, telling me the mpg, current and average, has been fun. ( For me, but irritating to the wife). I chose the model with the panoramic roof. Don’t be tempted. It looks good and originally worked well, but has started to leak. VW are not really interested in repairing it even though a google search shows the problem is widespread.
Water entering the car, has not only stained the headlining, but affected the electrical system. Cruise control only works intermittently, and other little faults have spoiled the car for me. The auto handbrake decided not to work one time and I came back to find the car had rolled down the drive and into the house. Another time the car refused to let me in...fortunately the old fashioned method of entering the vehicle came to my rescue....yes...you guessed it. The key. It’s just a matter of flicking a cover off the drivers door handle and hey presto.
To conclude....All in all a good car, but would I buy another. Maybe...but never again with a panoramic roof.
