Volkswagen Golf Estate (2013 - 2020) 2.0 TDI GTD 5d DSG Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Easy to drive, almost boring sometimes on a run, but shifts when you want it to. All seats comfortable for long or short journeys, heated front seats a bonus in colder months. Instruments clear and easy to read but could do with a light sensor to set brightness. If I dim instruments to suit country driving they are too dim when driving through town, and it's multi menus to adjust. Loads of space inside, rear seats easy to drop if needing more loadspace. Love the keyless ignition and entry, and ability to only open boot, with it locking again automatically upon closing, is handy. Gearbox is sometimes a bit indecisive, but if you pop it into Sport it always seems to get it spot on. Flappy paddles have good feel and never miss a change. Directional lights are very useful on winding country roads and seem to bemuse pedestrians when they see it's 'eyes' move around when starting car.
How reliable do you find the car?
Just service it and it runs nicelyDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
Surprisingly sporty for a turbodiesel. Handles well, though not as agile as a GTIAbout their car
