Volkswagen Golf Estate 2.0 TDI 150 R Line 5dr Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I chose this car on paper, without seeing it, driving it or seeing a review. I’ve had Golfs in the past and always have rated them and had a Mondeo Estate 2.0tdi econetic as my last car. From order to delivery the car took 22 months. During the wait time I read and read, each and every review and with each review thought that I had made a huge mistake in opting for the car. Whatever I read, it always highlighted how it was a good car but spoilt by the infotainment system and the effect it had on the usability of the car. Review after review said the same, knocked it down and rubbished the car. At 16 monthis of waiting I was convinced that I had made the wrong choice and started looking at alternatives and contemplating cancelling the order. The car arrived this week, and I can honestly say that after a 200 mile round trip I’m convinced that it is one of the best cars that I have driven. It’s comfortable, responsive and a solid proposition, compared to the Ford that I had before it just shows the difference in quality. The reviews rubbished the infotainment system,
The lack of buttons spoiled the whole driving experience apparently. Let me set you straight, if you are looking for a rewarding driver’s car, that’s well built, quick and a good looking car, look no further this is all you kneed. It is a fantastic all rounder, handling is great, overtaking speed is rewarding and the infotainment and haptic buttons on the steering wheel are a doddle. It appears that many wanted it to fail and they have used this difference in the tech as a beating stick for the mark 8. Truly, believe none of it, it is a really rewarding car to drive and brings a wide smile to your face. If you’re tempted to buy, but think that the infotainment and steering wheel buttons are a deal breaker, think again. Go buy one!
