Summary
What does this car say about you?
It says i like power in a car, it says im doing well enough at work to afford something respected, it says a big F- You to the "Innit Bo Selecta" Scally boy racer Saxo crew who spend all sundays outside Halfords sticking neon windscreen wipers on their sheds and most of all it says GTi no more needed.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all like it, looks great although i think the headlights could be made a little more sinister looking and the alloys suit the car so well.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I wouldnt buy it again for the simple reason i like to change cars frequently, nothing against the GTi its fab but i want to try so many before i get tied down
What are you likely to buy next?
Ive always wanted the Ford Focus ST in white with the racing stripes in blue on the side but not on the bonnet. I could have got one when i got the GTi but the deciding factor was MPG.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£19,000
When did you buy the car?
October 2006
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got a good deal the dealer had already sold me 3 cars from Honda in the past and moved to VW and tempted me to be his first sale.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I was undecided between the GTi or the VXR and the Top Gear review by Jeremy Clarkson swung the deal by naming the GTi car of the year .
What was the dealer like?
Very friendly and helpful the manager was a little untrusting but other than that i left showroom in a great car so i was not bothered.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Best car i have drove and in 8 years i have had 23 of the best, 2x Type R's, Cooper S, BMW 130i to name a few and this beats the lot hands down maybe not as quick but will keep you alive and has great balance of grip and power. Easy to drive around town everything so smooth from clutch to gear change and steering.
What's it like to park?
Easy its not like your backing a caravan in is it now ? With the steering so light anybody who struggles to park this should not be in THIS.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing at all , a few creaks from dashboard when driving and seatbelt alarm somtimes sounds even when the belt is locked in, but nothing major.
What's most practical about your car?
The space in the rear seats is amazing loads of legroom on the 3dr and seats move way forward to allow the more "meatier" passenger to exit and a very good sized boot too with two net compartments to stop little tools rolling around driving you crazy.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I like the steering wheel shape to be honest with the kinda hexagonal bottom to it makes it great for hurtling around country lanes and tight 180degree bends and the engines noise is neither scally nor subtle its PERFECT.
