Volkswagen Golf GTI (2013 - 2017) 2.0 TSI GTI (Performance Pack) 5d Owner Review

I have mixed feelings about my car. In many ways it is excellent, The ride and handling balance is superb, even on the 19" wheels fitted to my car. The engine is quiet and smooth and for a 2.0 petrol turbo the MPG is excellent. However build quality isn't as good as it should be. I have had issues with creaking noises at the rear from the suspension, creaks and rattles from the interior trim and here comes the big one, it suffered a failed water pump causing a breakdown at only 39000 miles. General build quality inside feels ok, but you can tell that some serious cost cutting has taken place with some cheap feeling plastics in places. My previous car was a 2010 BMW 3 series, and the build quality (solidity) and reliability was far better. That car managed 125,000 miles with no issues before I sold it.
