Volkswagen Golf GTI (2013 - 2017) 2.0 TSI GTI (Performance Pack) 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Good car in many ways refinement is excellent, it is reasonably fast and for the performance MPG is good and it is reasonably fun to drive (apart from the dreadful fake engine sound). Interior build quality is good if you sit in the front, the rear door cars feel hard and cheap compared to those in the front. Unfortunately despite the car being a relatively low mileage example we have suffered from reliability issues. We have had noises from the rear suspension over bumps, water leaking into the boot through the rear vents requiring the rear bumper to be removed so that they could be resealed. The car loses coolant due to the plastic waterpump housing leaking (a common fault on this cheaply made item that should've been made from metal) and now the car has just broken down due to the clutch slave cylinder failing. This will require a gearbox removal and new clutch due to it being located inside the gearbox bell housing. This is my second Golf, the first being a MK4 V5 and that also suffered lots of problems. I was hoping that VW reliability had improved hence I gave them another chance, unfortunately this hasn't been the case. Don't think that by paying extra for a VW badge that you will be getting good reliability. You may as well save your money and buy something cheaper.
