Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I have good taste.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Ok so a Renaultsport Megane is faster, but tell your friends you have a GTI and they want to talk about it. Tell them you have a Renault and they will feel the need to take up bowls.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Emphatically yes. Because nothing else touches it for class, ride quality and image unless you spend twice as much. But I think VW are very mean not including SatNav as standard on a car costing over £26k.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably the same again.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
July 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
The car was actually a pre0registered car on stock. So yes I saved a few quid and didn't have to wait 14 weeks for a new one.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Because it's a Golf GTI. Why else?
What was the dealer like?
Rubbish. I won't name the dealership as those living in South Wales may know them.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fabulous. An absolute joy. I am loving it. I have previously had the mark6 Golf GTI abd this is the same but with even more grip.
What's it like to park?
It has parking sensors so easy. You can specify park assist as an option for less than £200. I haven't got it but I have tried it and it is brilliant.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
It has still only done 5000 miles so no. But is my past experience of Volkswagen is anything to go by I shouldn't need to worry.
What's most practical about your car?
Sports car and family hatchback all rolled into one. Yes it is a well used cliché but it REALLY is the only car you will ever need.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Adaptive Cruise Control.
